Course Objectives 1. To perform basic navigation, manoeuvring and cargo handling communications in English
2. To utilize SMCP.
3. To read and prepare ship, cargo and port documentation in English language.
Course Description This syllabus covers the requirements of the STCW / 95 Convention Chapter II Section A-II/1. This functional element provides the detailed knowledge to support training outcomes related to navigation at the operational level.
Course Outcomes Students who pass the course will be able to;

I. Be able to use Maritime English and Vocabulary.
II. Communicate on Anchoring and Berthing/Unberthing operations.
III. Learn Navigational Watch Operations.
IV. Learn and use SMCP
V. Learn Ship, Cargo and Port Documents.
VI. Learn Forms and Checklists.
