Course Objectives
1.To teach required actions in case of emergency position.
2.To teach crises management on board in case of emergency position.
Course Description
Actions to protect all persons on board in emergencies. Actions to limit damage and save the ship following a fire, explosion, collision or grounding. Search and rescue. Response to sea pollution within the scope of MARPOL. Working on board safely.Security levels, security related contingency plans, security measures, declaration of security, security inspections of ship and security drills.
Course Outcomes
Students who pass the course will be able to;I.Learn precautions for the protection and safety of person and passenger in case of emergency. II.Learn actions to be taken in imminent and after grounding and refloating procedures grounding vessel.III.Learn actions and damage control procedures to be taken in ships collision. IV.Learn actions in case of steering gear failure.V.Learn about search and rescue in case of emergency and oil spill response procedures.VI.Ship Security Plan and ensure security on board ship.
