Course Objectives

1. Provide information on the automatic control systems.
2. Provide information on the ship automatic control system applications.
3. Provide information on the functions of the onboard mechanical, electrical, and electronical automation units and and share experiences on the problems and maintainance of those systems.

Course Description

Introduction to Automatic Control sysems. Proportional, Integrative, Derivative control algorithms. Step by step control and real time control. Control systems for position, temperature, and level. Electrical and mechanical automation components. PLCs, PIC, and digital control systems and components. Software control systems. Onboard control system applications, components, working principles, and malfunction detection.
