Course Objectives
1. To teach on board maintenance-manufacturing methods and safety precautions.
2. To teach hand tool varieties and their applications on board.
3. To teach control and measurement techniques.
4. To teach machine tools, workbenches and welding applications.
Course Description
Safety in engine room and precautions. Maintenance and manufacturing on board. Hand tools. Fittings and fastening methods. Sealing materials and adhesives. Measurement and control. Leveling. Basic applications of machine tools. Electric arc and oxy-acetylene welding systems and application.
Course Outcomes
Students who pass the course will;
I. Know on board maintenance-manufacturing methods and safety precautions.
II. Recognize hand tools, and know about their applications.
III. Know how to perform measurements and checks on board.
IV. Know how to use machine tools and workbenches.
V. Know types of welding and their applications.
