Course Objectives
1. To teach marine communication background,
2. To teach distress, urgency and safety communications,
3. To gain responsibility of the keepping radio watch on a ship radio station.
Course Description
Marine radio communication basics. National and international regulations. GMDSS terrestrial and satellite communication systems. Distress, urgency, safety and routine communication procedures. Maritime safety information service. Homing-locating and IAMSAR communication at sea. Ship radio station watchkeeping procedures. Radio communication supplementary equipment. International code of signals.
