Course Objectives 1. To practice navigation knowledge,
2. To teach voyage planning and management at different sea areas according to different navigation types,
3. To teach the usage of nautical publications (figures and tables),
4. To teach calculations related to navigation.
Course Description Coastal navigation and principles of route planning. Voyage planning and management. Usage of nautical publications in voyage planning. Studies for navigation in different sea areas. Different navigation types (great circle, composite, search and rescue, / restricted waters, ice, traffic separation schemes, etc.). Current and tidal calculations. Filling the deck log book.
