Course Objectives 1. To make a practice on main engine, auxiliaries and other systems by using Engine Room Simulator (ERS).
2. To get skills on maneuvering, watchkeeping, duties, operation, engine room team management and leadership.
Course Description Simulator applications related to the operation of main engines, diesels and turbo generators, marine boilers, auxiliary machinery and systems. Preparations of maneuvering, sailing and watchkeeping. Formation of an engine crew, team management, effective resource management and leadership.
Course Outcomes Students who pass the course;
I. Know how to prepareD/G (Diesel Generator) and boiler for duty.
II. Know how to prepare M/E (Main Engine) and related systems for duty.
III. Perform maneuvering and cruising duties in a team.
IV. Knows watchkeeping and to remedies malfunctions.
V. Can manage engine room team as a leader.
