Course Objectives

1. To teach auxiliary machinery.
2. To teach auxiliary systems.
3. To teach ship pipelines and valves.

Course Description

Classification of pumps. Dynamic and positive displacement pumps. Pump
components, fittings, pipeline components, control devices and seals. Valves. Ship
pipelines. Lubricating oil, fuel oil and diesel oil separators. Oily water separators. Air
compressors. Refrigeration systems and provision stores. Evaporators (Fresh water
generators). Incinerators. Sewage treatment plants.
