Course Objectives
1.To teach the basic concepts and circuit elements of electrical systems.
2.To teach the solution methods of direct current circuits
3.To teach the basic concepts of alternating current.
4.To teach the electrical systems and devices on the ship.
Course Description
Electrical safety rules and equipment. Electrical circuit elements. Star-delta transformations. DA Circuit theory. AA Circuit theory; single-phase AC, three-phase AC. Functional, operational and safety requirements in high voltage systems used on ships. Ship electrical distribution systems and earthing systems.
Course Outcomes
Students who pass the course will be able to;I. Learn about fundamentals of electricity and electrical equipment.II. Learn about analysis of electrical circuits.III. Learn about alternative current (AC) circuits.IV. Learn about electrical systems on board ships.
