Course Objectives
To provide knowledge on ship typology, equipment systems, propulsion systems, stability, and cargo operations by examining the technical, operational, and safety aspects of ro-ro/passenger vessels.
To understand the risks on ro-ro vessels by examining safety management, fire risk, past maritime accidents and emergency scenarios.
Course Description
The ro-ro/passenger ship types, ro-ro shipping lines in Türkiye and worldwide, special equipment and propulsion systems on ro-ro ships, loading/unloading operations and the concept of safe stability, types of cargo carried on ro-ro ships and requirements related to the transportation of dangerous goods, examination of watertight doors, safety and fire risks, related maritime accidents, and emergency/crowd management.
