Course Objectives
1. To teach the importance and advantages of the industrial automation.
2. To present the basics and technological details of the usage and selection of the modern
automation systems.
3. To teach fundamental information elements of automation; such as on sensors, motors,
robots and controllers.
4. To present the power control and applications involving hydraulic, pneumatic, servo
mechanisms.
Course Description
Introduction to Automation. Industrial Control systems. Sensors, Motors and other control
system elements. Numerical Control. Industrial Robotic. Pneumatic Systems and Control.
Hydraulic Systems and Control. Servo mechanisms. Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and
computer control. Automation of the transport systems. Automated Storage Systems. Automated
Data capture, transmission and analysis
