Course Objectives
Providing the functions of vehicle bodies, the applications of CAE and principles of vehicle body design
Course Description
General aspects of frame and body design, sources of structure loading, cornering loads, aerodynamic effects, structure requirements, stresses in skin plates, structure joints and attachments, calculation of torsion and bending, torsional problem of the truck frames, torsional stiffness and torsional angle, crooking.
Course Outcomes
Students who pass the course will be able to:
1. Essential basic knowledges of vehicle bodis
2. Basic knowledges of vehicle body manufacturing
3. Reliablility theory.
4. Obtaining of the body types of the vehicles according to the using aim.
5. To provide fatigue life estimation of the vehicle bodies and components.
