Introduction; Concept of modeling and basic principals. Stress. Strain. Mechanical properties of materials. Axial load. Torsion. Bending. Transverse Shear, Combined Loadings, Stress and Strain Transformation, Design of Beams and Shafts, Failure Theories, Deflections of Beams and Shafts, Buckling, Energy Methods.
