Course Objectives
1. To provide the fundamentals of mechanical vibrations
2. To teach the mathematical models and analytical solution techniques necessary for vibration analysis
3. To introduce the mechanical vibration problems that are observed in machinery
Course Description
Fundamentals. Undamped, damped and forced vibration analysis of SDOF systems. Vibration measurement. Vibration insulation. Vibration analysis of 2DOF systems. Dynamic vibration absorbers. Free and forced vibration analysis of MDOF systems. Approximate methods for the estimation of natural frequency. Modal analysis. Vibrations of shafts and estimation of critical speed.
