MAK 4029E  Advanced Fluid Mechanics
Course Objectives
To introduce;
 basic concepts of fluid flows and their classifications,
 methods of analyses of fluid flows,
 description of wellestablished and known approaches and theories and their scope.
Course Description
Basic Definitions and Constitutive relation. Conservation of mass, momentum and energy (Integral & Differential Forms). Flow kinematics (Pathlines, streamlines, streaklines, circulation and vorticity lines). Kelvin’s theorem. Bernouille equation, Crocco’s theorem. Vorticity equation. Some exact solutions of Incompressible viscous flows: Couette, Poiseuille, Stokes, Stagnation point flows, Creeping (LowRe) flows, Boundarylayer approximation, Jets and Wake flows.
