MAK 223 - Materials Science

Course Objectives

1. To introduce engineering materials consisting of metals, ceramics, organics and composites and their properties.

2. To introduce the relationships between the structural properties of materials and their mechanical, physical and chemical properties.

3. To emphasize the importance of material selection in design.

Course Description

To provide Mechanical Engineering students with knowledge about Materials Science and to show them how to use them in material selection and design processes.
