MAK 311E - Heat Transfer

Course Objectives

1) To introduce heat transfer modes, conduction, convection and radiation and to gain the ability to calculate heat transfer for each.
2) To gain physical interpretation skills of thermal systems using heat transfer principles.
3) To provide the ability to create and solve mathematical models of thermal systems.
4) Introducing heat transfer applications with examples

3) Steady state and transient conduction in solids
4) Forced convection for external and internal flow
5) Heat Exchangers
6) Radiation
