MAK 309 - mechanical vibrations

Course Objectives

1- To provide the fundamental knowledge of vibration in mechanical engineering.
2- To introduce the mathematical models and calculation techniques used in vibration analysis.
3- To introduce vibration problems encountered in machinery and their elimination methods

Course Description

Fundamental concepts. Undamped, damped, and forced vibrations of single-degree-of-freedom systems. Vibration measuring instruments. Vibration isolation. Vibrations of two-degree-of-freedom systems. Dynamic vibration absorbers. Free and forced vibrations of multi-degree-of-freedom systems. Approximate methods for calculating natural frequencies. Modal analysis.
