Course Objectives To provide information about emissions from motor vehicles, to teach engineering approaches to rapidly developing emission technologies within the scope of this information, and to gain design skills.
Course Description Pollutant components produced by motor vehicles, their effects on human and environmental health. Kinetic examination of the components formed as a result of combustion. Parameters affecting emissions. The effect of alternative fuel applications on emissions. Measurement methods of exhaust emissions, emission standards and control of emissions.
