Course Objectives

1- Teaching solution methods for systems of linear equations.
2- Developing the ability to apply matrix and determinant concepts in practical problems.
3 - Developing the ability to use linear algebra knowledge to solve engineering problems.

Course Description

Matrices and Systems of Equations, Systems of Linear Equations, Row Echelon Form, Matrix Algebra, Elementary Matrices, Determinants, Determinant of a Matrix, Properties of Determinants, Cramer’s Rule, Vector Spaces, Definition of a Vector Space, Subspaces, Linear Independence, Basis and Dimension, Change of Basis, Row Space and Column Space, Linear Transformations, Matrix Representation of a Linear Transformation, Orthogonality, Scalar Product, Orthogonal Subspaces, Inner Product Spaces, Orthonormal Sets, Gram–Schmidt Process, Eigenvalues and Eigenvectors, Diagonalization
