Course Objectives
1. Learning and applying methods of probability and statistical analysis of experimental data for error and uncertainty calculations.
2. Learning principles of operation, calibration techniques and application guidelines for measurement methods and systems.
3. Developing skills in team studies and leadership
Course Description
Basic concepts in measurement. Error and error analysis. Probability and statistics for uncertainty and confidence analysis of experimental data. Static calibration. Digital data acquisition. Dynamic system response. System identification. Signal conditioning. Spectrum analysis. Bridge circuits and variable impedance devices. Modulation. Noise and noise rejection.Report writing and presentation. Methods and sensors for basic analog electronics and displacement, pressure, flow, temperature, force, strain, vibration and sound measurements.
