Course Objectives Objective of this elective course is;
1. to improve thermal system design knowledge of students who have passed basic
thermodynamic, fluid mechanics and heat transfer courses, and,
2. to teach the students to use their knowledge in various applied fields of thermal-fluid
system design
Course Description Design principles of power generation systems. Design of refrigeration systems. Thermal system equipment. Fundamentals of thermal system design. Thermal energy economics. Engineering economics.
Course Outcomes I. Learn the design and analysis of power generation systems (a, c, e)
II. Learn the design and analysis of refrigeration systems (c, e)
III. Analyze the thermal system equipments (e)
IV. Learn and design thermal systems (a, c, e)
V. Learn and apply thermal energy economics (e)
VI. Design, optimize and present a project in a subject which will be covered in class as a team (d,g)
