Course Objectives
1. To teach about fundamental of strength material.
2. To teach about stresses on materials.
3. To teach about strength in material and fatigue strength.
Course Description
Introduction to strength of materials; tensile, compression, shear and torsion stresses. Breaking hypothesis. Pure bending and torsion. Single, double and triple axis stress and distortion. Elastic strain. Fatigue strength in material.
Course Outcomes
Students who pass the course will be able to;
I. Know about types of stresses under different forces.
II. Calculate stresses of material.
III. Calculate compound stress.
IV. Learn about single, double and triple axis stress and distortion.
V. Use breaking hypothesis.
VI. Learn about elastic strain.
VII. Calculate fatigue strength.
