Course Objectives		1.To teach mechanical engineering students design project phases and their management 2.To bring the students in project proposal preparation experience 3.To establish teamwork consciousness 4.To help students gain professional progress
Course Description		Introduction to Design and Design Methodology: product or technical ssytem conceptualization, analysis of design requirements and objectives, Economic analysis of design projects, Preparation of project proposals, Design for manufacturing, Safety and reliability in design, Information resources in engineering and standards, Project management and significance of teamwork, Feasibility analysis
Course Outcomes		Students are expected to demonstrate: 1.Knowledge of design projects and their phases 2.Experience of project proposal preparation 3.Knowledge of project management in multidisciplinary fields 4.Knowledge of design for manufacturing, 5.Knowledge of safety and reliability on mechanical design 6.Knowledge of information resources in engineering, patents and standards 7.Knowledge of feasibility concept and analysis
