Course Objectives		Explanation of the basic terms of ore preparation and basic principles of ore preparation, size reduction and classification equipment and basic information about size reduction circuits.
Course Description		Introduction to mineral processing, definitions, definition of size reduction, objectives, classification, size reduction ratio and spent energy calculations; crushing, definition, classification of crushers, jaws (single and double toggle), cone (short and long head, symons), roller, hammer crushers and their properties, formation of crushing circuits (open, closed) and calculations, milling, classification of mills, autogenous , semi-autogenous, rod, pebble, ball mills and their properties, calculations of mill parameters, milling circuits and calculations, new developments in size reduction and classification units, industrial samples, screening, definition, classification, laboratory type screening, size distribution calculations and size distribution curves drawing, Gaudin-Schumann function and usage, industrial screening, definition, screen types and working principles and calculations, definition of classification, movement of particles in fluid media and separation principles according to size, mechanical classifiers, hydraulic classifiers, types, working conditions, pulp calculations, period seminars.
