Course Objectives
Recently, determinations of geological factors in order to develop health living conditions have gotten significant amount attention. In that frame, medical geology has been a main class in geology education in the world. Therefore, this class should be in geology program as well in order to not only providing new job position to our students but also following the new trends in geology education in the world. In the proposed class which will include the subjects from medical geology, geological factors and their influence on human health will be taking up, methods of medical geology will be introduced, and use of applied medical geology results in economy and health care will be explained.
Course Description
General information about health. History, subject, goal, task and significance of medical geology, Environment of life and geological environment, Basic features of the geological environment, Characteristics of geological factors and their influence on human health The geography of disease (Nosogeography), Subject and tasks of geological and medical disciplines in defining quality of the environment and its influence on human health, Methods of medical geology, Use of applied medical geology results in economy and health care.
