Course Objectives

Topics covered are the concepts of forward and inverse modeling, inverse solution of linear and non-linear problems, least-squares solution, constrained least squares solution, example problems and approaches used.

Course Description

This introductory course on modeling in geophysics provides the students with the knowledge on the fundamentals of modeling and focuses on how observational data are used for the purpose of modeling of the earth structure.
