Course Objectives
1. To provide the definitions of marble and their properties
2. To show the details of surface and underground marble production methods and technologies
3. To show the details of marble Cutting and processing methods and technologies
4. To provide the use of marbles and marble wastes.
5. To explain marble economy and marble potential in the world and Turkey.
Course Description
The definitions of marble, marble properties, production methods and equipment technologies,
marble cutting and processing techniques, the evaluation and use of marble wastes, marble and
environment, the use of marbles, marble economy, marble potential of Turkey and other
countries
Course Outcomes
Students who pass the course will be able to:
I. understand the classification and properties of marbles
II. select the marble quarry site selection and calculate reserves
III. understand surface and underground marble production methods and equipment
technologies
IV. understand cutting and processing methods and equipment technologies
V. find out the use of marbles and the evaluation and use of marble wastes
VI. determine the water treatment method
VII. evaluate the marble economy and marketing
