Course Objectives
Introducing the programming languages (e.g. Fortran, Matlab, etc.) and programs (e.g. GMT, Surfer, Grapher, Pickwin / Plotrefa etc.) commonly used in Geophysical Engineering to the students in detail and providing them with knowledge and experience by making applications.
Course Description
Introduction to programs used in geophysical engineering
Linux / Unix operating systems and simple Input / Output operations, data extraction,
Solutions of geophysical problems using Fortran programming language,
Introduction to MATLAB program and applications,
Applications in graphics and mapping programs (e.g. Grapher, Surfer),
Introduction of geophysical data processing / imaging programs (Pickwin / Plotrefa, Res2DINV),
Introduction to drawing and mapping in GMT and QGIS programs.
