JEO 410E - Remote Sensing in Geology

Course Objectives

This course aims to teach the basic concepts of the basics of remote sensing, characteristics of remote sensors, and remote sensing applications in earth sciences and professional industries.

Course Description

Remote sensing is the study of the earth's land, water, atmospheric and man-made features using imaging devices on platforms, both from the air, from the drone, and from space. The course includes the discussion of the application and interpretation of digital images, the study of electromagnetic energy, and the application of remote sensing in geology, hydrology, mining, exploration, etc. The lesson application work focuses on learning the basics of remote sensing by processing and interpreting digital images with the software
