Course Objectives
The classical original research articles mainly in the field of Geophysics, but students are welcomed to bring along to class any other article they may find it attractive, and those of other relevant Earth Sciences disciplines, will be discussed. The main scope of this course is to attract the attention of potential undergraduate students to continue studying at graduate levels (MSc and PhD degrees), and to influence them the importance of the research-oriented study. Therefore, it is aimed to form a new insight among young talents towards a science society extending the love of science on the long run.
To give insight into scientific research and discoveries
To train students how to access and evaluate scientific data and research articles.
Course Description
-The dynamic elements of the Earth’s interior will be discussed and the Potential hydrocarbon Zone of the Turkish Basin with the newly developed methodology of exploring them.
-Petroleum Exploration Evaluation and Geophysical principles required for the exploration of hydrocarbon.
Course Outcomes
-Understand the key topics related to the Exploration Geophysics and research challenges in those areas.
-Perform a proper reach through online and published articles and develop skills to access recent advancements in science.
-Develop the skills necessary to successfully write reports and seminars, including project summaries and research goals.

There is no specific book for this course, but students are encouraged to bring any popular research article from published respected scientific journals. Thus, this course will be planned along the direction of the students’ interest and the evolving hot topics will be introduced throughout the entire Earth Sciences disciplines.
