Course Objectives The aim of the course is to teach the concept of metamorphism and the formation of metamorphic rocks. In addition, the factors causing metamorphism, reactions, textural and mineralogical properties of metamorphic rocks and the concept of facies in metamorphism are also within the scope of this course. Since the course aims to learn rocks, the applied part of the course is as important as the theoretical part. During the applications, the rocks are introduced with the hand samples found in the laboratory. Simple tests and applications used for the classification of minerals and rocks are given.
