Course Objectives		The main aim is to introduce coal, which is one of the most important energy sources, to teach all the properties of coal and to transfer the necessary pre-treatments and ore and coal preparation methods to ensure its use as a clean fuel, and to teach all the processes that will enable it to burn at higher efficiency and become a clean fuel.
Course Description		Definition and properties of coal, place of coal properties in consumption and use of Turkish coals, hard coals, lignite and residues. Sampling in coal. Coal preparation, washing curves, M-curve basis. Crushing, screening, wet enrichment of coal, dry enrichment of coal, reducing the amount of sulfur in coal. Reducing the amount of moisture in coal. Auxiliary processes in coal preparation. Process evaluation methods in coal washing plants. Coal analysis methods
