Course Objectives
1. Introduce students to the interconnected components of the Earth system.
2. Develop understanding of natural and anthropogenic processes affecting Earth.
3. Foster systems thinking for analyzing global environmental challenges.
Course Description
This course provides an overview of Earth’s major components—atmosphere, hydrosphere, geosphere, and biosphere—and their dynamic interactions. Students explore natural processes and human activities shaping Earth’s past, present, and future, with emphasis on systems thinking and global environmental change.
Course Outcomes
1. Describe the key components of the Earth system and their interactions.
2. Analyze the impact of human activities on Earth’s systems.
3. Apply systems thinking to environmental problem-solving.
4. Interpret basic Earth system data and trends.
