Course Description

Electrons in atoms; principles of quantum mechanics, periodic properties of elements, molecular structure, molecular symmetry, covalent bond, valence bond theory, molecular orbital theory, electronegativity, ionic bond, crystal structure of ionic compounds, metallic bond, intermolecular forces, the effects of intermolecular forces, acid-base concepts, hard and soft acids and bases.
