Course Objectives
The main objective of this course is to review the development processes of the common human history in the last three millennia. Important turning points and mutual interactions are put forth, while certain regions of the world are foregrounded in order to pinpoint their effects and contributions to the human legacy respectively. Also, in this course, the importance of geography, new ideas, techniques and human factors are emphasized.
Course Description
In this course, world history is studied from the ancient civilizations to World War II covering approximately the last three millenia of the human history. While the focus is mainly on Europe and the adjacent regions, the developments in the Near East, the Far East, and the Americas are approached with an analytical view and their effects in the making of the present world are discussed.
