Course Objectives
To teach a person who knows mathematics, computer, programming and the subject of the problem, how to solve the problem on the computer and its methods.
Course Description
Introduction: errors, error sources, Taylor series. Finite differences: forward, backward and central differences, interpolation, extrapolation, curve fitting. Numerical solution of linear algebraic equations. Determination of the roots of non-linear equation and non-linear sets of equations. Numerical integration. Numerical solutions of ordinary differential equations.
Course Outcomes
To learn numerical derivative, interpolation, extrapolation, curve fitting, linear algebraic equation set solution, solution of nonlinear equations, numerical integration and differential equation solution methods.
