Course Objectives 1. To introduce the counting techniques
2. To introduce the concept of probability
3. To introduce the basic elements of probability
4. To make aware of the students about the use of probability in Statistics
Course Description Counting Techniques, Concept of Probability, Probability Function, Probability Density
Function, Bernoulli, Binom, Poisson Disributions, Exponantial, Gamma, Normal Density Functions, Random Variables of Multiple Dimensions, The Concept of Estimator and Properties of Estimators, Maxsimum Likelihood Function, Test of Hypothesis, Ki-Square Test, t-test,
F-test, Correlation Theory.
Course Outcomes 1. He will have an idea about counting techniques
2. He will have an understanding of probability from the point of view of science.
3. S/He will be introduced with the basic elements of probability and learn how to use it
4.S/ He will be introduced with the basic elements of statistics
5. S/He will learn to look at a problem from the point of view statistics
6. When S/he is in need of statistics he will use statistics as a tool
