KIM 101 - General Chemistry I

Course Objectives

The aim of this course is to provide the students with the general chemistry concepts, the importance of chemistry in our life and the relations with other fields of science and to provide the basic knowledge of chemistry and problem solving skills.

Course Description

The properties of matter, atoms and atomic theory, electronic configuration of atoms, periodic table, chemical compounds, chemical reactions, reactions in aqueous solutions, thermochemistry, gases, chemical bonds, liquids, solids and intermolecular forces, solutions and physical properties, chemical equilibrium , acids and bases, entropy and free energy.
