Course Objectives Basic concepts of polymer chemistry will be described to the students. In the context, basic terms of polymers, polymerization methods: condensation and chain polymerizations; functionalization of polymers, and synthetic methods for block graft copolymers, and star copolymers should be given.
Course Description 1. What is polymer, basic terms for polymer
2. Polymerization reactions: condensation, radical, anionic and cationic polymerization routes
3. Functional polymers
4. Copolymers: block, graft and star copolymers.
Course Outcomes Students who successfully completed the course will gain the following subjects:
1. What is polymer, basic terms for polymer
2. Polymerization methods: condensation, radical, anionic and cationic polymerization routes
