Course Objectives
Fundamental understanding of different numerical methods used in solving engineering problems and gain basic knowledge of theory under these methods.
Ability to choose the proper numerical method for solving engineering problems
Course Description
This course makes an introduction to numerical solution of mathematical problems in engineering through use of established numerical methods. The objective of the course is to provide students with the basic knowledge and skills required for implementation of numerical methods that can be used for modeling and analysis of engineering problems. Covered topics include basics of mathematical modeling, computers and error analysis, linear equation systems, nonlinear equations, curve fitting, numerical differentiation, integration and differential equations.
