KIM 482E - Organic Reactions
Course Objectives
The course is designed to provide fundamental aspects of total synthesis in organic chemistry. This course enables the students understand the mechanism of common reactions used in organic synthesis and then to plan syntheses.
Course Description
This course provides extensive coverage of various aspects of total synthesis such as retrosynthetic analysis, protecting groups, chemoselectivity, regioselectivity, stereoselectivty, the carbon-carbon bond forming reactions using stabilised carbanions, ylides, enamines, and transition metal catalysis.
In addition, the common name reaction used in organic synthesis will be introduced
