BIO 224E - Molecular Biology

Course Objectives

1 - To teach students the basis of molecular biology.
2 - To familiarize students with biomedical applications molecular biologyin the biochemistry laboratory.
3 - To teach students the industrial applications of molecular biology.
4 - To make students see moleculer biology - from an interdisciplinary perspective that includes life sciences, chemical engineering and environmental aspects.
5 - To provide practice in searching the internet, libraries and databases to identify a BODY of knowledge relevant to molecular biology.

Course Description

Fundamentals of molecular biology. Medical and industrial applications of molecular biology. The relationships between these applications and the biological, physical and social components of life.
