Course Objectives
The aim of this course is to introduce the fundamental concepts of Algebra.
Course Description
Group and Ring Theory are the main subjects of this course
Topics: Introduction; integers, equivalence relation. Groups; axioms of groups, sugroups, normal subgroups, Lagrange theorem, homomorphisms, Cayley theorem, permutation groups, structures of commutative groups. Rings; rings and ideals, polinomial rings, quotient rings, ring homomorphism, quotient feld, principal ideal domains, unique factorization domains, euclidean domains, prime and maximal ideals.
Course Outcomes
To teach the students the main concepts of groups and rings.
