Course Objectives
1. Learning the basic concepts and principles of organometallic chemistry
2. Describing the general properties, stabilities, bonding of organometallic compounds and important ligands
3. Explanation of the synthesis, reactions, structures and characterizations of organometallic compounds.
Course Description
Introduction to organometallic chemistry, the 18-electron rule, electron counts, types of ligands in organometallic chemistry, structure and bonding in organometallic complexes, ?-bonded metal-carbon compounds, ?-bonded metal-carbon compounds, metal clusters and metal-metal bonding.
