Course Objectives
1. to develop skills for understanding of environmental hazards and their results during disaster and emergency cases.
2. to develop skills for determining the precautions for minimization of environmental risks.
3. to develop skills for creating an environmental management plan.
Course Description
This course provides the fundamentals of environmental hazards and consequently the environmental pollution that can occur during a disaster and emergency case, and describes the basis of precautions to prevent the environmental hazards for the emergency manager candidates.
Course Outcomes
Bu dersi başarıyla tamamlayan öğrenciler;
1. Çevre ile ilgili genel kavramları anlayabilme
2. Afet ve acil durum koşullarında oluşabilecek çevresel tehlikeleri ve çevresel riskleri tanımlayabilme,
3. Çevresel risklere bağlı olarak su, hava ve toprak kirlenmesi ile ilgili tüm tanımları yapabilme,
4. Çevresel riskleri minimize etmek üzere alınması gerekli tedbirleri tanımlayabilme
5. Çevresel riskleri minimize edebilecek bir yönetim planı oluşturabilme
6. Enkaz yönetimine yönelik plan oluşturabilme
becerilerini kazanır.

Required Facilities
A detailed term paper/project will be given in order to make the students understand the course better. The homework is to be submitted on a defined date and presented in the class.
