AFY 523 - Post Disaster Needs Assessment

Course Objectives

This course is designed to grasp the international methodology for post-disaster needs assessment.

Course Description

Execution and implementation studies of disaster effects and needs, starting with search and rescue after disasters and up to recovery. The impact of disasters on social development, production (agriculture, industry, tourism), social (structure, education, health), infrastructure (electricity, gas, water, transportation, communication), factors to be considered in all sectors (administrative, environment, business), determining the losses of the sectors, applying, monitoring and updating the post-disaster sectoral recovery and restructuring strategies.
