Course Objectives
Social impacts of disasters; Social resilience and sustainability; Global Goals and issues on risk management, recovery, and reconstruction; Incentives to planning for needs, awareness and strategies (#leave no one behind, #building back better)
Course Description
Disaster impacts on women and men, vulnerabilities to hazards and disasters, social issues in disaster risk management, analysis of the capacity building, effective awareness, training, post-disaster recovery and reconstruction, mitigation planning.
Course Outcomes
Students who successfully pass this course gain knowledge in the following subjects ;
1. To understand disaster impacts,
2. Taking into consideration needs during disasters,
3. Gender-sensitive disaster management,
4. Gender empowerment and awareness and developing strategies
