Course Objectives
1. To define the concept of disaster resilience with its components and parameters
2. To discuss the process and the efficiency level of community awareness programs improving risk communication and enhancing public participation
3. In the process of risk management, to define resilience strategies and to learn implementation tools.
Course Description
Urban and regional development, sustainability, vulnerability, concept of resilience and assessment parameters, risk communication, risk perception, public participation, public/private partnership, investments, roles and responsibilities, legal framework, mitigation plans, assessment of resilience level in the frame of risk management cycle, local and national strategies in integration of resilience through development plans, evaluation of community resilience programs
