HBM 627E - Guided Research

Course Objectives

To define (primarily for PhD) graduate student's research field targeting his/her thesis topic and to conduct concrete pre-research on his/her prospective thesis sub-area and measure the student's ability and promote research skills and capability.

Course Description

In this course, for each student It is required to conduct a concrete pre-research on a sub-research field after defining of his/her research topic or PhD thesis. Pre-research will include identifying the novel method/algorithm which will be used in the thesis and implementing to a 2D or 3D problem which is agreed with supervisor and developing a software modeling the method. Validation and verification of the developed model will be done by both numerical algorithm verification and the validation of the final results with theoretical and/or experimental data.
